First post!
So, I'm starting this blog on the recommendation of my friend Andrew. What's this blog about? Well, basketball of course... it's right in the title! It's gonna be equal parts fantasy basketball strategy, Laker rants, Kobe hate, and other random funny/interesting stuff I find day-to-day obsessing over the NBA.
Believe it or not, but I once said during Lebron's rookie year that he'll be playing in the finals by his 5th year, and well, that came true. Hopefully this blog won''t become another abandoned project and we'll be able to look back on it in the years to come. In light of that, here's some more of my semi-random, semi-bold predictions/declarations. Lets see if they come true...
1) Carmelo Anthony will not advance past the first round in his first 10 years in the league (5 years down, 5 more to go)
2) Greg Oden and the Blazers will be playing in the Finals by his third active year (that's the 2010-11 season)
3) Kobe Bryant will NOT win another ring as the 1st option on a team. (doesn't count if he tags along to some other contender in his later years).
4) Rudy Fernandez will be an all star someday... and actually I'd like to think sooner (first 5 years) than later.
5) Fuck age and fuck D'Antoni. The Suns win on Nash and Nash alone... assuming he stays relatively healthy, the Suns still win at least 55 this regular season.
6) Kevin Love is gonna be a bust. Since he was drafted 5th overall, I'm gonna loosely define that as in 5 years, we can easily argue that there were 9 better players in that draft (making Love 10th or worse from the draft).
7) Dirk Nowitzki will retire a Maverick. And not like Pippen where he went back after bouncing around a couple teams. Dirk will never leave on his own or force a trade and Cuban will never trade him or let him walk. Dirk is gonna be a Mav for life... Reggie Miller style.
